Cornelius Den Otter

DES MOINES – Cornelius Den Otter, 86, of 1439 E. Henderson, Des Moines, a former resident of the Lynnville and Sully areas, died Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Des Moines General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Survivors are a brother, Bert Den Otter, of Plant City, Fla.; a sister, Sarah Masters of Monroe; five half-brothers, Harry Den Otter, Wendell Den Otter, Austin Den Otter and Bob Den Otter, all of Wisconsin, and Jerry Den Otter of Louisiana; and two half-sisters, Marie Richter and Nona Linden, both of Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister and three half-brothers.

The son of Dick and Ella Den Otter, he was born Aug. 25, 1898 in Prairie Township in Mahaska County. ~ Newton Daily News, Nov. 27, 1984
