Ella Den Otter

MONROE – Mrs. William (Ella) Den Otter, 80 a resident of Monroe since 1945, died Saturday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Monroe First Baptist Church.

The Rev. Greg Boyle, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church will be accepted.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is in charge of arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, five brothers, two sisters and her parents.

Mrs. Den Otter was a member of the Monroe Baptist Church, Senior Citizens, Monroe American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.

She has been employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. of Kansas City, Mo., for 25 years until her retirement.

The daughter of Cornilus and Jane McDowell Mikesell, she was born Sept. 14, 1902 in Fredonia, Kan., and was a 1920 graduate of Nevada, Mo., High School.

She was married Oct. 20, 1932 in Versailles, Mo. ~ The Newton Daily News, August 8, 1983.
