Carmen Brackett, 67, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Taylor House Hospice of respiratory failure. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday March 29, 2005 at Cornerstone Family Church, 3114 SW 61st St., with burial at 1:30 p.m. at Rock Creek Liberty Cemetery.

Carmen was born in Des Moines and lived in the city until 12 years ago when she moved to Kellogg. She last worked for the State of Iowa as Supervisor of Child and Adult Abuse before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with her family.

Carmen is survived by her daughter, Robin (Allen) Hale of Des Moines; son, Rich (Angie) Brackett of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Vicker of Des Moines, Virginia Mickelson of Grinnell and Karen Choate of Grinnell; and a brother, Carl Henry of Pleasant Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Clarice Henry and her brother, Marvin, Jr.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Taylor House Hospice.
