Charles L. Myrick Rites Thursday; Died on Monday
Funeral services for Charles Leslie Myrick, 60, a resident of Newton since 1925, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
The Rev. F. F. Kramer, rector of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.
Mr. Myrick will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home. The casket will be closed at 9 a.m. Thursday and will remain closed.
The family requests that memorials be given to the St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
Mr. Myrick was found dead in his car on E. 12th St. S. Monday morning.
The son of Charles and Myrtle Myrick, he was born July 4, 1906 in Des Moines.
He resided in Des Moines, Colorado and Eddyville before moving to Newton in 1925. He as a graduate of Newton High School.
He was married to Mildred Hobbs, April 19, 1941.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Charles LeRoy and James Laverne, both of Newton, and John Edward, in the armed forces in Vietnam; a sister, Mrs. Wendell Mulbrook of Osage Beach, Mo., and a half brother, Edward Myrick of Walnut Creek, Calif.
He was a member of the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
