Mrs. Ethel Gomez Dies at Iowa City; Services Monday
Mrs. Raymond (Ethel) Gomez, 45, of route 3, Newton, died Thursday at the University hospitals at Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral home.
The Rev. Robert Barnett, minister of the First Baptist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Palo Alto cemetery.
Mrs. Gomez is survived by her husband, Raymond; her father, Lon E. Abel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Glen F. (Ruth) Ross of Newton, Mrs. John (Irene) Hendryx of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Ray (May) Law of Jetmore, Kan.; and three brothers, Ralph Abel of Newton, Alfred Abel of Newton and Ray Abel of Jetmore, Kan.
Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers.
Mrs. Gomez was a member of the Baptist church in Ness City, Kan.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lon E Abel, she was born October 24, 1915 in Ness City, Kan.
She was married to Raymond Gomez, April 24, 1942 at Unionville, Mo.
Educated in Ness City, Kan., schools, Mrs. Gomez moved to the Newton area in 1940
