June 13, 1957 - August 11, 2024

Lori Lynette Swanson, age 67, of Waukee, Iowa (formerly Newton, Iowa), passed away on August 11, 2024. Lori’s family will greet friends for a visitation on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home directly after the visitation. Following the funeral, burial will take place at Green Mountain Cemetery in Green Mountain, Iowa. Memorials may be made out to the Waukee United Methodist Church or Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton. The daughter of Richard Swanson and Doris (Varnum) Swanson, Lori was born on June 13, 1957. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1975. After high school, Lori attended Future and later Progress Industries in Newton. She worked at the Newton Hy-Vee for over 20 years. While in Newton she lived at McCann Village and attended Community Heights Alliance Church. Lori made lots of friends at work, home, and church; she loved chatting and joking with people. Lori had a servant heart. She was always ready to lend a hand to an elderly neighbor or help out in the church nursery. She had a great faith in God and the power of prayer. She loved her family and friends and kept countless photo albums full of photos of her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. On the fun side, Lori loved wearing cat t-shirts, Scooters lattes, and classic old TV shows.

Those left to honor her memory include her sisters; Christie (Michael) Cochran, Diane Dasher, and Kasey (Alan) Eoriatti, nieces and nephews; Derek Cochran, Jamie (Gary) Fann, Sarah (Bryce) Johnson, Mollie Cochran, Shane (Tiffany) Dasher, Tabatha (Chris) White, Austin Eoriatti, Emma Eoriatti, Kaitlin Eoriatti, and Sophia Eoriatti, and great nieces and nephews; Brandon Gauci, Bailey Fann, Houston Fann, Lily Fann, Ashleigh Estes, Alley White, Joshua Brandon, Jace Dasher, Savannah Flores, Charlie Dasher, Dylan Dasher, Zachary Dasher, and Logan Dasher.

Preceding Lori in death were her parents; Richard and Doris Swanson, a niece; Haley Eoriatti, and a brother-in-law; John Dasher.
