Vera E. Quinn, 93, of Newton died Sunday, Aug. 24 at USA Healthcare in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Michael Dack officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call beginning at 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. There will be a coffee time immediately following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Jasper County Capital Campaign and left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Richard and Alice Veber Strovers, she was born Aug. 21, 1910 in Kellogg. She grew up in Kellogg and graduated from Kellogg High School. She moved to Newton in 1951. She was a homemaker and a member of Congregational United Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Burrows of West Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
