KILLEEN, Texas – Theona M. Pinegar, 84, of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Newton, died of cancer Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Thomas Lloyd officiating. Burial will be at Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.

Friends may call Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials will be accepted to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of William Henry and Elizabeth Frances Lamb, she was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Colfax. On May 10, 1952, she married Lewis R. Pinegar in Unionville, Mo. She was a writer and was a member of a writer's club and Writer's Guild. She also was an ordained minister. Mrs. Pinegar loved her dog, Zorro, and enjoyed crocheting and knitting and cooking.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John O. Hall II and Gloria of Lawton, Okla., and James D. and Phyllis Hall of Killeen, Texas; a stepdaughter, Rachel Trenary of Kellogg; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sons, Alfred Leroy Hall and Frederick William Hall.
