KELLOGG – Dorothy Joan McDonald, 71, of Kellogg died Monday, Aug. 4, at her home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Community Christ Church, 402 3rd St. in
Union, with the Rev. Lloyd McDonald of New Providence officiating. Burial will be at Chester Cemetery in rural Union. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to Center Friends Church, Union Community Church, or to Hospice of Grinnell. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or at the church the day of the service.
The daughter of Oren and Mabel (Musland) Marshall, she was born Feb. 19, 1932, in Garden City. She was a 1949 graduate of Union High School. On Aug. 15, 1950, she married Norman L. McDonald in Bangor. She was a postal clerk at the Kellogg Post Office and a member of Center Friends Church in rural Newton.
Survivors include her husband; four sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Carol McDonald of Ames, Gary and Sharry McDonald of Kellogg, David and Julie McDonald of Hilliard, Ohio, and Dan and Jennifer McDonald of Cedar Rapids; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Wayne DeBelko of Cortland, Ohio; five grandchildren; a sister, Ardis Caster of Eldora; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
