DES MOINES - Michael E. Maston, 44, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died of a heart attack Monday, Aug. 18, in Urbandale.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center in Newton officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Newton Union Cemetery - Vets II.

Friends may call Friday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be left in his name at the funeral home.

The son of Charles V. and Peggy (Johnson) Maston, he was born Sept. 8, 1958, in Newton. He attended Newton schools. On Jan. 18, 1994, he married Bambi Nevitt. He served in the United States Army and was a factory worker for the Maytag Company.

Survivors include his wife of Newton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jarrod and Tricia Maston of Des Moines and Zachary Maston of Newton; a step-son, Tim Reynolds of Newton; his parents of Cedar Rapids; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Rita Maston of Killduff and Don and Diana Maston of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
