Larry "Snod" R; Snodgrass, 65, of 1800 S. 4th Ave. E. died Thursday, July 17, of heart failure at his apartment at Suncrest Village.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, where the family will greet friends immediately before the memorial service.

The body has been cremated. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorials will be accepted in his name to the American Cancer Society.

The son of Ray and Marjorie (Harper) Snodgrass, he was born Oct. 31, 1937, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School and was a lifelong resident of Newton.

Mr. Snodgrass served in the U.S. Navy and was proud to be a veteran. He was a truck driver with Bisom Trucking for many years.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jolene Snodgrass of Newton; a sister and brother-in-law, Mardell and Larry Flemming of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Myrna "Mert" Hill of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
