Larry Lee Spilman, 64, of 802 N. 7thSt. E. died of congestive heart failure Sunday, June 15, at his home in Newton.

Graveside services were held today at 1 p.m. at the Newton Union Cemetery in the Veteran's Section. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Memorials will be accepted in his name and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Harold Thomas "Dyke" and Olive Marie (Crane) Spilman, he was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Jasper County. He graduated from Newton Senior High School and was a resident of Newton most of his life. He served in the United States Army and worked for the Maytag Corporation.

Survivors include several aunts and cousins in Ottumwa and friend and neighbor, Larry Putz of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
