SULLY - Timothy Jay Redding, 29, of Sully died on Tuesday, July 15, from injuries suffered in a car accident near Pella.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Kalona Mennonite Church in Kalona with Pastor Jerry Morningstar officiating. Burial will be at West Union Mennonite Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A Memorial Fund has been established for the Gideons, and the Heaven and Home Hour.

The son of Ted and Doris (Hershberger) Redding, he was born on April 28, 1974, in Iowa City. He grew up in the Parnell area and has lived in Sully since 1992. He graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1992. He was a graduate of GMI in engineering and management in 1996. He was employed as an engineer at Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella.

He was a member of the Sully Community Church, where he served on the deacon board, and was the assistant secretary, taught adult Sunday school class and taught mid-week Bible study. He was the chairman of the Mission Board. He also worked with IFCA Central Iowa Youth in the Bible Quizzing Ministry and the National Quizzing Ministry. He enjoyed farming and the outdoors.

Survivors include his parents of Parnell, and his paternal grandmother, Bertha Redding of Pleasantville.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Redding, and his maternal grandparents, Ora and Bertha Hershberger.
