Margaret Mulleneaux, 94, of Newton died of heart failure Monday, July 14, at Heritage Manor Care Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Howard Vrankin of the First Lutheran Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be available until 10:30 a.m. Memorials will be accepted to First Lutheran Church in Newton.

The daughter of John William Richards and Mary Ann Dougal, she was born March 3, 1909, in Enterprise. She attended Colfax and Newton schools. She married William Mulleneaux in 1928 and was a resident of Newton since 1930. She was a homemaker and a member of the Merry Mixers Club, enjoyed making quilts, dolls and children's clothing. She also made food baskets for the needy and was a member of the What Not Couples Card Club.

Survivors include four daughters, Martha Watkins of Camdenton, Mo., Myrna Twedt of Punta Gorda; Fla., Susan Daughtery and Sharon Burton both of Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sarah Smith of San Diego, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Mary Margaret Lanphier; a sister, Eva Lust; and two brothers, William and James Richards.
