BEND, Ore. - Lela B. (Sumpter Williams) Lynn, 91, of Bend, Ore., died Friday, July 11, at her home in Oregon.

Memorials will be accepted to the local Congregate Meals program.

The daughter of Henry Owen and Minnie (Dunton) Sumpter, she was born Oct. 13, 1911, in Colfax. She graduated from Mitchellville High School. In 1930, she married Ray Williams. They lived most of their early married years in Newton before they moved to Powell, Wyo., in 1945, where they owned and operated a Mobile service station until 1951. At that time, they returned to Newton. They worked for Dunlap Manufacturing Company until her husband's death in 1955.

In 1957, she married Joe Lynn in Newton and worked at Younker's department store in Newton for several years. In 1975, she moved to Bend, Ore., to be with her son and daughter-in-law and their family. She was a volunteer at the Bend Senior Center meal site for several years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lana Williams of Bend, Ore.; two granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Williams of Newton.
