Brenda (Wierschke) Harger, 18, of 3118 Highway F-48 W. in Newton died Thursday, July 24, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Stuart Voeller of the Faith Baptist Church in Prairie City officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Mack Wierschke and Lynnette (Pierce) Ballard, she was born Nov. 7, 1984, in Newton. She was a 2003 graduate of Grinnell High School. On July 4, 2003, she married Robert J. "Bobby" Harger in Newton. She worked for the FBG Corporation Cleaning Service for the Maytag corporate offices. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Prairie City.

Survivors include her husband; father of Newton; mother and stepfather, Leon Burton of Marshalltown; half brother, Michael Ballard of Marshalltown; grandmother, Clara Wierschke of Newton; mother-in-law, Pamela Smallwood of Prairie City.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
