STRATFORD – Kenneth Elrod, 26, of Stratford, formerly of Prairie City, died of adult leukemia Tuesday, July 15, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Granger United Methodist Church in Granger. Burial will be at Hamilton's Crematory in Des Moines.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Memorials will be accepted to the Adult Leukemia Research at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The son of Bruce and Diana Elrod, he was born Feb. 15, 1977, in Des Moines. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and received the Billy Mitchell Award. He was a pilot and worked for Elliott's Flying Service. He participated in the Writer's Guild and enjoyed flying, fishing, squirrel hunting and writing.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie of Spokane, Wash.; his parents, Diana Elrod of Des Moines and Bruce and LaDonna Elrod of Prairie City; a brother, Doug Elrod of Grimes; and his grandparents.
