Lucille M. Dobbs, 70, of605 E. 27th St. S. died Wednesday, June 25, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services were held today at the old Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton with Pastor Sid McCrorey officiating. Burial was at Newton Union Cemetery. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Memorials will be accepted to the Dialysis Unit at Skiff Medical Center or to Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Rumaldo and Marie (Balmer) Gomez, she was born July 4, 1932, in Newton. On July 4, 1950, she married Raymond E. Dobbs in Kirksville, Mo. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, camping, ceramics and doing crosswords. She was a member of the Community Heights Alliance Church.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Edward E. Dobbs of Killduff, Rodney D. Dobbs, Russell Terlouw and Curtis Burton, all of Newton; two daughters, Pamela Kay Van Brogen of Sully, Debora Sue Birkenholtz of Newton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Baxter of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mary L. Hitner, and eight brothers, Francis, Juan, Lee, Bob, Joe, Roy James, Milo and Raymond Gomez.
