GRINNELL – Olive A. Burnham, 93, of Grinnell died. Friday, July 4, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Friends Church in Grinnell, with Evelyne Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Grinnell.

Visitation will be held today from noon to 9 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the First Friends Church and St. Francis Manor.

The daughter of Jesse Lowell and Martha Etta (Dearinger) Meredith, she was born September 10, 1909, east of Searsboro in Poweshiek County. She was raised in the Searsboro area and received her education in the Lynnville School District. On Aug. 17, 1927, she married Albert Curtis Burnham in Newton. The couple farmed in Jasper County prior to moving to Grinnell in 1942. She was employed for 30 years with DeLong's and retired in 1972. She was a member and past president of the Grinnell Eagles Auxiliary and a member of the First Friends Church.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Grinnell, Wayne of Spencer and Russell of Kellogg; one daughter, Carol Hudnutt of Grinnell; two brothers, Lowell Meredith of Grinnell and H. Devern Meredith of Searsboro; 18 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Charles and Richard; one daughter in infancy; four sisters, Bernice Ponder, Ila Van Willigen, Neola Edwards and Mildred Renaud; and two brothers, Melvin and Leland Meredith.
