Don Starbeck, 49, of Newton, died Friday, May 30.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel, 7975 University Blvd., in Clive. Burial will be at a later date in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Born in Des Moines, Mr. Starbeck was an employee of Maytag. He lived in Newton the past 13 years. He was a NASCAR race fan, enjoyed camping and rebuilding car engines.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; two sons, Brandon and Andrew; and a sister, Laura McFarlin of Polk City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Don Starbeck Memorial Fund.
