Jeffrey Lane Illingworth, 45, of Newton died of cancer Monday, June 2, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E. in Newton, with the Rev. Merle Smith, chaplain of Skiff Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County.

The son of John and Janet (Davidson) Illingworth, he was born Sept. 14, 1958, in Newton. He attended Newton schools and was a lifelong resident of Newton. He served in the United States Army and was a semi-truck driver for DRS Trucking in Oskaloosa.

Survivors include three daughters, Cari Ward of Florida, and Molly and Abby Illingworth, both of Newton; three grandsons; two brothers, John Illingworth of El Paso, Texas, and Jack Illingworth of Metz; his father, John Illingworth of Newton; his step-mother, Colleen Illingworth of Newton; and special friend, Kathy.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
