GRINNELL - Gladys L. Bennett, 74, of Grinnell died Wednesday, June 4, M Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Pastor Troy Stein of the Grinnell First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Gladys L. Bennett Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Edgar Lee and Opal Millie (Troxel) Winchester, she was born November 23, 1928, in Monticello, Ky. As a young child, she moved with her family to the Rock Creek Lake area, where she received her education in a country school near her home.

She was married to Billie Lee Bennett Nov. 14, 1949, in Montezuma and the couple made their home in Grinnell. She was past president of Grinnell Eagles Auxiliary and a member of the Y.F.W., Grinnell American Legion and Grinnell Regional Medical Center Auxiliaries.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Steven Bennett of Grinnell; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, William and Jacob Bennett of Montezuma; and one sister, Pauline Williams of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
