Marla Vos, 61, of Reasnor passed away Dec. 9, 2021. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. at Sully Christian Reformed Church. Memorials have been designated for 40 Days for Life and The Family Leader.
Marla Kay Vos was born Nov. 13, 1960, to Norm and Mae (Goemaat) Nieuwsma in Oskaloosa. Marla grew up in Pella, was a 1979 graduate of Pella High School, and she was honored to be Tulip Queen that year.
Dec. 28, 1979, she was united in marriage to Clinton Vos at Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella. They were blessed with four children: Curt, Mindy, Lindsay, and Stacia. When in high school, Marla worked at the Overall Factory, then briefly at Vermeer Manufacturing, and spent the rest of her life helping Clint on the farm and managing their equipment business. Marla was a dedicated Proverbs 31 woman: She managed the house and business, and did the cooking, cleaning, and sewing. She was talented and good at anything she put her mind to. Marla was a long-time member at Sully Christian Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school and was a GEMS counselor. Marla was very passionate about the pro-life movement and volunteered for 40 Days for Life. Most of all, Marla loved her 15 grandkids! She was always present for them and would do anything for her family!
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Clint and their family: Curt (Candice) Vos of Sully, Mindy (Ben) Six of Mitchellville, Lindsay (Jonathan) Golliet of Pella, Stacia (Eric) Bradley of Ankeny; 15 grandchildren; her parents-in-law Cliff and Millie Vos of Reasnor; her brother Les (Carla) Nieuwsma of Pella; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jud (Pam) Vos of Sully, Meldon (Eloise) Vos of Reasnor, Weston (Terri) Vos of Laurel, Nolan (Karla) Vos of Pella, and Neisha (James) Horn of Newton.
Marla is also survived by many other family members and special friends.
Marla was preceded in death by her parents.
