MONROE – Willis Van Wyk, 85, of Monroe died Saturday, May 10, at his farm near Monroe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Monroe First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Silent City Cemetery. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is handling arrangements.
Friends may call today after 2 p.m. at the church where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Shepherd’s Home, Hospice of Pella or Gideon's International.
He was born near Monroe on July 31, 1917, and was a member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Pat Van Wyk and Roy and Claudia Van Wyk; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Hugh Elrod; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dale.
