COLFAX - Joseph Moody Stayner, 95, of Colfax died Saturday, May 10, at his daughter's home in Urbandale.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with pastor Dan DuRocher officiating. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery.

Friends may call today at the funeral home after 6 p.m. where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Central Iowa.

The son of Harry and Hazel (Swihart) Stayner, he was born March 17, 1908, in Colfax. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1925. On May 29, 1929, he married Edith Fay Meckley in Colfax. He was a farmer and a member of Howard Street Christian Church of Colfax.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lyle Pohlman of Urbandale; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Wilma Stayner of Brea, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother and a grandson.
