BAXTER - Bonnie J. Schweinebart, 68, of rural Baxter died of heart failure Tuesday, May 20, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the funeral home. The memorial will be used for various projects in Baxter.

The daughter of Amos M. and Irene L. (Bates) Snyder, she was born Feb. 15, 1935, in rural Collins. She graduated from Collins High School in 1952 and also attended AIB in Des Moines. On July 2, 1954, she married Gary D. Schweinebart in Newton and was a homemaker. She was a resident of Collins from 1935 until 1954, when they moved to Baxter.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jim Matheny of Shellsburg and Patty and Mike Schroyer of Baxter; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Dorothy Snyder of Ames and Donald and Geri Snyder of Hesperia, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in infancy, two brothers, Doyle and Robert Snyder, and a sister, Kathleen Dickel.
