Doris F. Moore, 92, of 500 1st St. N. died of congestive heart failure Monday, May 5, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Pence Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Marvin Potter, retired Presbyterian minister, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may visit with the family following the memorial services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Dr. Reu L. and Florence (Cady) Barnett, she was born Dec. 29, 1910, in Cumberland. She graduated from Atlantic Senior High School in 1928 and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls in 1931 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in art from the University of Nebraska in 1933.

On Aug. 31, 1940, she married Leo Frank Moore in Santa Monica, Calif. She was a homemaker, art teacher, special education teacher, interior designer, dress designer and co-owner of Moore's Jewelry Store.

Survivors include two daughters, Sally Moore and Nancy Carl, both of Iowa City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Evelyn (Harnett) Harman and Joyce Barnett.
