KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Kenneth D. "Chief" Musser, 45, of Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, May 20, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

Funeral services will be held today at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, Kan.

The son of Luther "Bud" and E. Elaine (Bibens) Musser, he was born July 14, 1957, in Omaha, Neb. He served in the United States, Navy from 1981 to 1982.

He was a member of the Freight Train Riders of America and the Wrecking Crew. He was married to Angela Eason. Mr. Messer lived in Kansas City, Kan., since December of 2002. He grew up in Newton and moved to Ogden, Utah, for two years before moving to Kansas. He was a lifelong construction worker and was employed by Allied Construction Company of Kansas City, Kan.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sara Musser of Leavenworth, Kan., Bridget Musser of Fort Scott, Kan.; a son, Jim Bob Butler of Fort Scott, Kan.; a brother, Randy Musser of Kansas City, Kan.; one grandchild; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
