Thomas R. Loupee, 62, of 2105 S. 3rd Ave. E. died of cancer Saturday, May 17, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home Loupee in Newton with his nephews, the Rev. Steve Peters and the Rev. Craig Peters, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County or to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Raymond W. and Grace A. (Oliver) Loupee, he was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Newton. He graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1959. On July 2, 1966, he married Margie Warner in Newton. He worked at the Parson's Company in the early 1960s and the Newton Foundry from 1965 to 1984. His last employer was Wehrle Trucking Inc. in Lynnville, where he was a truck driver and dispatcher for 14 years. He retired in 2002. Mr. Loupee was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Monica Loupee of Newton; a daughter, Julie Stockdall of Newton; four grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Richard Peters and Barbara Slycord, all of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Galen, twin brothers in infancy, a sister in infancy and a brother-in-law, Norman Slycord.
