SULLY - Alice Jansen, 85, formerly of Sully died May 24.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Sully Christian Reformed Church. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after noon today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Sully where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials will be accepted to the Christian Opportunity Center.

PELLA – Alice Jansen, 85, of Pella, formerly of Sully, died Saturday, May 24, at Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sully Christian Reformed Church in Sully. Burial will be at Sully Cemetery. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully is handling arrangements.

Friends may call today at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Christian Opportunity Center in Pella.

The daughter of Gerrit and Cornelia (VanDyk) Van Norden, she was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Poweshiek County. On Feb. 18, 1938, she married John H. Jansen and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church and Ruth Circle. Mrs. Jansen enjoyed ceramics, knitting and handwork.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gene and Eleanor Jansen of Sully and Verlan Jansen of Lynnville; a son-in-law, Vernon Moore of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, William Van Norden of Denver, Colo.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma and Carl Ryhoek of Pella, Sophia and Myron Renaud of Sully and Marie and Henry Terlouw of Sully; and one sister-in-law, Gertie Van Norden of Sully.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Catherine; an infant granddaughter; three brothers, Henry Van Norden, Case Van Norden and infant Herman Van Norden; and four sisters, Effie Pleima, Hendrika Struik, Jenny Van Sant and Nellie Jansen.
