MAGALIA, Calif. — Keith E. Kleinendorst, 82, of Magalia, Calif., formerly of Newton, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Feather River Hospital in Paradise, Calif.

Memorial services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in rural Newton. There will be no visitation. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling local arrangements.

The son of Arthur H. and Ethel (Dysart) Kleinendorst, he was born April 5, 1923, in Newton. He graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1942.

On June 28, 1942, he married Virginia Gifford in Bethany, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He worked in construction and home building and was a member of a carpenter's union. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Marvin (Brenda) Kleinendorst of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a daughter, Cheryl Branon of Sunnyvale, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lynn (Dorothy) Kleinendorst of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Barton Keith Kleinendorst; and a brother, Don Kleinendorst.
