PRAIRIE CITY - Maxine V. Jennings, 89, of Prairie City died Monday, April 28, at Taylor House in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is handling arrangements.

Friends may call Thursday after noon at the funeral home, where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Prairie City United Methodist Church Building Fund.

The daughter of Frank and Lila (Leweallen) Vaughan, she was born Aug. 23, 1913, in Monroe. On Aug. 16, 1933, she married Hubert V. Jennings in Newton. She worked for several years at Beek's Fabric Shop in Prairie City. Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church and also the F & F Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Rowe of Altoona; five sons, Larry of Arvada, Colo., Duane and Bill both of Prairie City, Jim of Kearney, Mo., Gene of Granger; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, two sisters, Mary Garland and Ruth Woodruff, and one brother, Gene Vaughan.
