The Prairie City News has the following regarding the death of a Jasper County pioneer.

Mr. A. P. Wing died at Menominee, Wis., on Wednesday morning, Jan. 22. He was 76 years of age at the time of his death and had been ill for several months. The news of his death will be received by his friends in Prairie City with sincere sorrow and regret. He was one of the oldest settlers in this part of Jasper County and was well known as a prominent man in religious circles. He was the proprietor of the Wing Park Farm, and by a coincidence a closing out sale took place at the farm just east of Prairie City on the day of Mr. Wing’s death. A telegram notifying friends of his death was received Wednesday, and no further particulars have been received up to the time of going to press.
