Ked Weithers, 63, of 200 S. 8th Ave. E., formerly of Colfax, died of complications of lung disease Friday, Feb. 21, at USA Healthcare in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Karen Berka of Des Moines officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Memorials will be accepted in his name and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Henry and Margaret Weithers, he was born March 1, 1939, in Colfax. He lived in Colfax and Newton and was a resident of Wisconsin for five years. He worked for a cleaning service.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ked Weithers Jr. and Judy of Colfax and Anthany "Tony" Weithers of Woodward; two daughters, Sandra Weithers of Baxter and Misty Weithers of Newton and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
