PHOENIX, Ariz.- Sara Louise (Lloyd) Vance, 90, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Newton, died Thursday, March 27, at her home.

Funeral services were held March 31 at Palo Cristi Presbyterian Church in Paradise Valley, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85014 or to Palo Cristi Presbyterian Church, 3535 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley, Ariz. 85253.

The daughter of Lyle Leslie and Cora (Macaffee) Lloyd, she was born Sept. 29, 1912, in Atkinson, Ill. She attended MacComb Teachers College. In 1934, she married Joe R. Vance, a former Maytag executive. They lived in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri before moving to Phoenix in 1972. She was an avid golfer and reader and was a member of P.E.O., Chapter AQ.
Survivors include her children, Douglas E. Vance and Linda Vance Ross; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grand children.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Helen Lloyd.
