D. Van Dalen Dies in Nebr.
Brother of Newton Persons Dies Sunday Afternoon; Former Resident
Murphy, Ia – Emmet Van Dalen left this morning for Norfolk, Nebr., where he was called by the death of his brother, Dan Van Dalen, about 40, who died Sunday afternoon. He was to make the trip with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones of Knoxville.
Dan Van Dalen resided in Jasper county and farmed around Sully until moving to Nebraska about six years ago. He was a veteran of the World War.
Surviving are four brothers, Emmet and Henry, of near Newton, Will of Valley Junction and John of Albia, three sisters, Mrs. Jones of Knoxville, Mrs. Dell Spain of Des Moines and Mrs. Dora Munger of near Newton who now is wintering in California.
Mr. Van Dalen never married.
