Funeral services for Ralph Trusler, 22, who was fatally injured in an auto-truck collision Dec. 23, were conducted from the Morgan Funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Rev. F. D. Boldt. Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.
Pallbearers were Max Hesson, Keith Huston, Francis O’Roake, Jack Gearhart, Jerry Morelock and Jack Buchanan.
Mrs. Paul F. Guy and Mrs. M. H. Edge arranged the flowers. Mrs. Arnold Peters, accompanied by Mrs. Vera Trevits Scheel, sang “Ava Maria” and “The Old Rugged Cross”.
Ralph Edward Trusler, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Trusler, was born Dec. 3, 1918, on a farm near Newton. He received his education in the Newton No. 4 (Oak Ridge) rural school and at the Newton High school, from which he was graduated in 1936.
After graduation he was employed for a time at carpentering and farming but the first of the year was employed by the John Monroe Chevrolet company. Lately he had been helping his brother, Clifford, on the farm and in operating the Brown-Swiss dairy.
Immediate relatives surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Trusler and brother Clifford.
