Mrs. Alice King Succumbs at 79 In Des Moines
Friends here have received word of the death of Mrs. Alice King of Des Moines, but formerly of Newton which occurred Jan. 30. She suffered a heart attack on Dec. 27.
Mrs. King was 79 years old last Nov. 22 and she will be remembered here as she and her husband owned a bookstore for many years on the northeast corner of the square where the Hotel Maytag now stands.
She was the mother of the late Claude King and of Mrs. Mabel Kennedy.
Surviving is her daughter and one grandchild, Lieut. Reginald King Kennedy, now on active duty at Fort Crook at Omaha, Nebr.
She and her daughter were preparing to move to Omaha in a few days to be near Lieut. Kennedy who is on the examination board for the flying cadets.
Interment was beside her son in the Glendale Abbey, Glendale cemetery, Des Moines.
