Prairie City Man, 84, Came to Jasper County in 1881
Prairie City, Ia. (Special to The Daily News) – L. H. Hanel, a resident of Jasper county since ___, died Tuesday after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services were held Wednesday p.m. at 2 o’clock at the Christian church with burial in the Waveland cemetery.
Surviving are one son, Dwight, with whom he has made his home since the death of his wife about 20 years ago and two grandchildren, Larry and Rosemary.
Mr. Hanel was born Dec. 5, 1856 at St. Louis, Mo., and on Jan. 1, 1890, was wed to Sinia S. McCracken at Prairie City.
He was a member of the Three Quarter Century Club of The Newton Daily News and Jasper County Record.
