CAMDENTON, Mo. – Barbara "Joan" Buchman, 74, of Camdenton, Mo., formerly of Newton, died Monday, Feb. 10, at the Lake of the Ozark Retirement Center in Lake Ozark, Mo.

Funeral Mass was held Thursday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Camdenton, Mo. Burial was at Laughlin Cemetery in Camdenton. Hodges Funeral Home in Camdenton handled arrangements.

Memorials will be accepted to the Lake of the Ozark Developmental Center, P.O. Box 753, Camdenton, Mo., 65020.

The daughter of Jack P. and Hazel (Connor) Santen, she was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Newton. On May 2, 1947, she married Ralph Edward Buchman in Cedar Falls. She and her husband owned and operated the Point View Resort in Camdenton until they retired. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Camdenton.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan and Sue Buchman of Norwich, Conn. and David Buchman of Osage Beach, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Buchman of Columbia, Mo., and Barbara Ruehters of Camdenton, Mo.; two sisters, Nancy Carr of Keokuk, Linda Johnson of Montrose; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather and her father and stepmother.
