Sudden Death. - Wm. Schnathorst, a German living north of town died suddenly on Monday last. He was on his way on horseback to attend a sale at M. Graham's. In attempting to cross a stream his horse would not go over. Fred Osten finally went to assist him but on going to him the German asked him to help him off his horse; Mr. Osten did so, but he had hardly got him to the ground, when he died without a struggle. Deceased was about 60 years of age, was a man of considerable property and much respected. It is believed he died of heart disease. He leaves a widow and ten children, and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. ~ The Journal, Newton, Iowa 31 March 1881.
