Dearinger - At her home near Galesburg, on March 21st, of consumption, Mrs. Mattie Dearinger, age 25 years.

The Deceased was the wife of J. Dearinger and a daughter of John Mudgett and left two young children. She had been a member of the M. E. Church for seven years, and died peacefully trusting in her Saviour. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J. M. Coates to a large congregation of sympathizing friends and neighbors, from the text "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord." ~ The Journal, Newton, Iowa Thursday, 31 March 1881.
