POORE - At his home near Seward, Nebraska, of inflammation of the liver, on March 8th, 1881, William H. Poore, aged fifty-one years, ten months and twenty-two days.

Deceased leaves a wife and five children to mourn their loss, also an aged mother, who resides with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Adamson, of this city.

This will be sad news to his many old friends and acquaintances of Jasper County, as he resided near Newton 22 years, having only gone to Nebraska a little over a year ago. He was formerly a member of the Christian Church, but of late years (there being no church of that denomination near him) he has attended and enjoyed himself at whatever church was most convenient for him, always trying to do the best he could, and we hope he has gained a crown in glory for his reward ~ The Journal, Newton, Iowa 24 March 1881.
