Mrs. Ira Bittner Dies Monday in Iowa Lutheran Hosp.
Mrs. Ira (Kathrine) Bittner, 92 year-old Mingo woman, died yesterday at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines where she had been a patient since February 27.
Born February 8, 1876 to James and Issabelle Shinnabarger in Valpariso, Indiana, she was educated in the schools there and was married to Ira Bittner on December 25, 1904. following their marriage they came to their present farm 5 miles north of Mingo, where she lived until her health failed in 1964. since that time she has been a resident of Clearview Nursing Home in Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960; her parents, two sisters, one brother and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Grace) Link of Mingo, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bert (Marsha) Moorhead of Spooner, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at Ashton Chapel Church. Rev. Robert Hinshaw and Rev. V. E. Shickell will officiate and burial will be in Ashton Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter until time of services.
