BUENA PARK, Calif. — Gerald A. Guthrie, "Jerry," 75, of Buena Park, California, formerly of Newton died of liver disease Monday, Sept. 5, 2005.
Services were held in Buena Park, Calif.

Mr. Guthrie grew up in Newton, where he graduated from Newton Senior High School, and then served in the U.S. Navy. He lived in Buena Park, Calif., for 50 years and worked in the aerospace industry for 37 years.

During his life he was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and did much volunteer work for the Red Cross, Literacy Volunteers, Buena Park Library Used Book Store and Braille Institute.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; six children; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
