Colfax – Funeral services for Alfred “Al” Retman, 61, of Colfax, a longtime resident of Colfax, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Howard Street Christian Church.
The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.
Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax after 3 p.m. Saturday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He died Wednesday at his home.
Survivors are his wife, Lois; three sons, Steven and Michael, both of Colfax, and Calvin Craig of Okinawa; two daughters, Denice Exley of Colfax and Deborah Retman of Kingman, Ariz., four grandchildren; a brother, John of Englewood, Ohio; a sister, Phyllis West of Benson, Ariz.; and two half-brothers, Edwin Widen of Tucson, Ariz., and Charles Widen of Sierra Vista, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a half-brother.
Mr. Retman, a member of the Howard Street Christian Church and Operating Engineers, Local 234, was a retired heavy equipment operator.
The son of John and Alma Edwards Retman, he was born Jan. 31, 1926 in Sioux City.
He was married to Lois Miller May 2, 1953 in Kansas City, Mo.
