Funeral Services For Colfax Woman To Be Held Monday
Colfax – Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Alice Pierce, 41, of Colfax will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Walter’s Funeral Home in Colfax.
Mrs. Pierce passed away suddenly at her home Friday. Born Feb. 15, 1922 at Rhodes, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nichol. She was educated in the Rhodes School and graduated from the Collins High School.
She came to Colfax in 1936 and was married to Melvin Pierce on March 19, 1937 in Newton.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin, and five sons, Melvin, Jr., of Mingo; Donald of Mingo and Kenneth, Larry and Dwight at home; four sisters, Mrs. Adolph Harre of Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. Russ Stableman of Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Lloyd Dodd of Baxter and Mrs. Vernon Batholomew of Davenport and four brothers, Rueben Nichol of State Center, Walter Nichol of Knoxville, Ray Nichol and Furley Nichol of Colfax, also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one son.
The Rev. Marlowe Reinholdt of the Baptist Church will officiate at the services with burial in the McKeever Cemetery.
