Little Nora Pierce, of Sherman township, who has been a patient and weary sufferer so long, died of consumption Saturday evening, March 9th, 1889, aged about 17 years. After funeral services, conducted by J. H. Painter of the Christian Church, held at the residence of her parents, in the presence of a large assembly of friends, her remains were laid away in the Poweshiek cemetery.
Dear suffering little Nora, death brought welcome relief to her; her sweet presence will be sadly missed in the home circle. May the Father in Heaven who knows best under all conditions, comfort and sustain her mourning parents in this hour of trial.
