A little baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Pierce Sunday, Jan. 7, at the Skiff hospital in Newton. The little one weighed 4 ˝ pounds, but only lived but a few hours to bring sunshine in the hearts of its parents, it being the first child in the home. The mother will be remembered as Miss Eva Taylor. The babe was laid to rest in the McKeever cemetery Tuesday afternoon, services being held at the Cloris Pierce home near Newton at 1 o’clock.

Loretta Pierce, baby daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Morris Pierce, passed away Sunday after living only fifteen hours.
Her bereaved parents reside north of Sugar Grove Grange.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Paul Hammar, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Interment was had at the McKeever cemetery.
