Colfax – Funeral services for Eugene D. Pierce, 59, were held today, Dec. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. The Rev. Robert Snyder, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax. Memorial contributions to a fund in Mr. pierce’s name may be left at the Waters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
He died Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Survivors are his wife, Marjorie; three sons, Rodney and Steven, both of Colfax; and Scott of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Ronda) Teed and Mrs. Ed (Margena) Doty, both of Colfax; and six grandchildren.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Margaret Pierce of Colfax; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Gertrude) Warrick, Mrs. Frank (Irene) Warrick and Mrs. Harold (Wilma) Hill, all of Colfax; and four brothers, Melvin Sr., Park, Lenard and Willis, all of Colfax.
Mr. Pierce, a Maytag Co. retire, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colfax.
He was the son of Fay and Margaret Lynch Pierce.
He was married Dec. 26, 1945.
